Our Mission: To raise $2500 in profit, enough to sponsor 7 orphans for a year!!!

Directions: You can drive into Parking Lots M and N, which are near the BMH (B.C. Matthews Hall) and off of the intersection of Hagey Boulevard and Columbia Street West. From there the BMH green is a 5 minute walk.

Spring Term Squash Tourney Is Here!!
This Saturday June 5th, 2010 we will be having our termly Squash Tournament!
100% of the proceeds will go towards sponsorships. You can pay the entrance fee at the tournament, or at the OSP Squash Registration that will happen after the upcoming Jumah this week at MC and SLC.
It’s been a big hit over the past few years and we are expecting a huge turnout.
This is a great opportunity to change the lives of children all around the world by having a great time with brothers from all over the campus – by getting your squash on!
This tournament is open to anyone who wants to play squash. We welcome the enthusiastic squash-master as well as the curious beginner playing for the first time.

The UW Orphan Sponsorship Program would like to welcome you to a new and exciting term!
With the amazing generosity of our Adopt An Orphan sponsors and our OSP donors, we have successfully raised over $40 000 since the Spring term of 2007, providing 42 orphans with education, health care, shelter, food and most importantly an opportunity for the future. We cannot be more thankful to our Adopt An Orphan sponsors and our OSP donors for their amazing contribution in the last few years.
We look forward to reaching new heights this term in our aim to provide opportunities for vibrant young children all around the world.
InshAllah, we have a few projects this term that will generate funds to support our orphans, and potentially help sponsor additional orphans this year. This includes some really fun events like a Squash Tournament coming up after midterms, as well as some other projects that will be organized within the next few weeks.

We’ll soon be having our Fall Kick-Off Meeting to introduce the program, explain how you can get involved and give our packages to encourage people to collect. Make sure to check back for more updates!
As a reminder to ourselves and everyone else – While we are busy with our studies we often forget that many children all around the world crave to have the opportunity to go to school. This is just one of the many privileges they do not have; many children don’t even have access to clean drinking water, food or shelter.
Help give a child the chance at a bright future, explore our website to see how YOU can make a difference.

Alhumdulilla. As many of you know, we held our 3rd Annual fund-raising BBQ in partnership with the Afri-Can Connection last week. All profits raised will be donated towards the building a well in Larabanga, Ghana. Larabanga is a Muslim village that has no source of clean drinking water, children are forced to drink water that cause many diseases. The Afri-Can Connection has developed a sophistical plan to build this well and inshAllah it will provide clean water for many generations to come.
With the help of so many dedicated volunteers, plus juma collections, we were able to raise $2236.02!!
We wanted to sincerely thank each and every one of you who came out to attend and volunteer at the event. All of our volunteers were exceptional and stayed out in the scorching heat with big smiles and no complaints. Jazakum Allah khair, may Allah truly bless you for your efforts. Ameen.

OSP Sports Days
The Friday and Saturday following the BBQ the OSP held fund-raising Sister’s Basketball Tournament and a Brother’s Squash Tournament. Alhumdulilla, we had great groups of enthusiastic brothers and sisters and together we raised $145.00! All proceeds will go towards orphan sponsorships.

The OSP will be holding an Orphan Awareness Day on Friday July 24th from 12:00pm to 3:00pm in the SLC. We’ll be there to answer questions about the program and we’ll have profiles for the orphans our community has sponsored. Full details will be provided soon.

The MSA Orphan Sponsorship Program, in partnership with The Afri-Can Connection, is organizing a BBQ on Wednesday, July 8 and Thursday, July 9. The time of the event, taking place in the Arts Lecture Courtyard (between Arts Lecture and Dana Porter) is 11:00am-4:00pm on both days, insha’Allah.
All of the BBQ’s proceeds will be going towards building a well in Larabanga, Ghana, a village that has no source of clean water.
